The Fathers First Celebration Brunch is more than an event — it is a movement dedicated to honoring fathers, strengthening families, and helping make Waterbury the most father-engaged city in Connecticut.
Hosted by Reality Based Services, this special celebration brings together community leaders, businesses, families, elected officials, and supporters to recognize fathers who lead with love, sacrifice, integrity, and commitment at home, in the workplace, and throughout the community.
When fathers are engaged, families become stronger, children thrive, and communities grow healthier and more connected. This event was created to celebrate positive fatherhood while also supporting fathers who may be facing challenges silently and without support.
Many fathers in our community work hard every day to provide for their families while struggling with financial hardship, food insecurity, unemployment, housing instability, or personal setbacks. Far too often, men are too proud to openly ask for help — even when their families are in need..
Funds raised from this event will directly support the Fatherhood Resource Hub, a safe and supportive space where fathers can receive immediate assistance, complete needs assessments, and access critical resources designed to help bridge gaps during difficult times.
Support provided through the Fatherhood Resource Hub may include:
- Food and grocery assistance
- Diapers and baby essentials
- Clothing and hygiene products
- School supplies for children
- Emergency family support
- Fatherhood engagement resources
- Community referrals and support services
